While preparing orders late into the night, Enrique welcomed a conversation and pointed me toward other vendors in the neighborhood.

When I arrived at The Best Tacos, it was already late in the evening. Enrique was busy at the grill preparing orders, but despite the rush, he happily took a few minutes to talk with me.

Enrique has worked at The Best Tacos for four years after previously working in a warehouse. Looking for a new opportunity, he joined the team and now helps serve customers six nights a week at the stand's location near Olympic Boulevard and Union Avenue.

As we talked, Enrique not only answered my questions but also recommended several other nearby vendors that he thought I should meet. It was a small gesture, but one that reflected the sense of community that often exists among street vendors.

The Best Tacos serves Mexican food Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. until midnight, drawing customers well into the night. Behind every order is someone like Enrique, whose friendliness extends beyond the counter and helps make the neighborhood feel a little more connected.
